Belknap and Crater Lake were the destinations. Sam and Greg went diving. The girls and I tagged along. Belknap was so beautiful we ran in the fields, got a glimpse at the secrete gardens and swam in the hot spring pool. Oh I can't forget Gator was crazy to see a bear all weekend and this is the only bear she saw. Just to give you a little back ground on the bear, Allison had spotted a Bear at Dairy Queen in Zig Zag a few weeks ago. No one believed her but when we got to the drive up we saw a little black bear diving in the dumpster. He was there quite a while before running off to his mom no dought waiting in the forest not to far away. Ever since then Allison is on the hunt for bears. The girls were so pooped after the swimming pool that they slept in until 8AM that next morning. They never do that. Oh it was nice to sleep in.
The next morning we were off and running. Sam had to be at Waldo Lake for a dive with Greg and then straight to Crater Lake to camp out. The girls first time camping in a tent in the forest. (That how Allie will describe it.) We didn't get to see the lake, but I hear it's nice. We hung out at our camp site guarding the trailer and food from camp robbers. They are these vicious little birds that stole the bread from Brianna's sandwich. As she cried about her bread (still sitting by her sandwich) another camp robber swept in and took the cheese. Lots and lots of tears. The rest of the morning was spent creating calls to scare the "mean" birds. The birds did not leave us alone until Allison started in with rocks. Not the nicest birds. Later on while we where off on a nature walk a "timber tiger" (commonly named chip monk) snuck into the zipped isolated food bag and was stealing cookies as was arrived back at camp. Don't feed the animals! They are more than capable of feeding them selves, as we learned.
It was a fun weekend for the girls and I. They took 2.5 hour nap that day and later on in the car on the way home another 1.5 hour nap. Jumping, running and yelling at camp robbers took all they had. The boys seemed to have enjoyed their dives as well.
